Care Wireless


Care Wireless is an Illinois Lifeline assistance phone operator that provides free government cell phones and 250 free monthly cell phone minutes and text messages. Currently, Standup Wireless only offers free cell phones and service in Illinois.

Care Wireless offers one cell phone plan in Illinois. All users receive free of charge 250 monthly cell phone minutes.  All incoming and outgoing text messages are charged at 0.4 minutes per text message.  A free basic cell phone is provided to all subscribers.  However, users can optionally upgrade the free cell phone to a more feature rich cell phone for a fee.

Customer who require more than 250 cell phone minutes a month can optionally purchase additional minutes.  Top up minutes can be purchased online or at more than 36,000 locations around the country.

Care Wireless Eligibility Criteria

You may qualify for Standup Wireless service if your participate in a public assistance program, such Federal Public Housing Assistance/Section 8, Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Food Stamps, Home Energy, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), or The National School Lunch Program’s Free Lunch Program, or have a total household income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
