Anyone interested in applying for Reachout Wireless service must first complete the Reachout Wireless application and be accepted into the program. The application is straight forward and most applicants can finish the Reachout Wireless application in less than ten minutes. Due to the varying eligibility criteria for Reachout Wireless service from state to state, each state has a different application form.
The first step to apply to Reachout Wireless is to log on to visit the Reachout Wireless website and enter your zip code. If Reachout Wireless provides service in your area you will be brought to your state’s specific Reachout Wireless application form. Most applicants will be able to complete the Reachout Wireless application online.
Reachout Wireless currently offers free government cell phones to eligible users in Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Clicking any of the links above will bring you to Reachout Wireless’ specific state eligibility requirements for that state.
Users are first prompted to input their name, mailing address, and contact phone number. Unfortunately, Reachout Wireless will not mail a cell phone to a PO Box. All applicants must use a residential address in their application.
Once the user has submitted their contact details, they will be requested to chose a cell phone plan. In most states applicants have the option of selecting 125 free cell phones minutes that roll over each month (any unused minutes are added to the number of minutes you receive the following month) or 250 free cell phones that do not roll over.
Next, the applicant must select which government assistance program that they are a participant (program-based eligibility) in or select their household income (if qualifying under income-based criteria). If the applicant selected program-based eligibility they will either have to swear under penalty of perjury that they are participants in the government program that they selected or, in some states, provide written documentation proving program participation.
Finally, applicants will be required to provide a digital signature. Once completed, the Reachout Wireless application is submitted electronically. Most applicants, if accepted, will receive their free government cell phone within two weeks.
